ACG WESTERN MICHIGAN HOSTS PANEL ON BUSINESS FORMATION


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., January 6, 2005 - – A panel of experts will share best practices on founding, forming and funding a new business when ACG Western Michigan hosts its first breakfast event of 2005 on January 19.


Panelists will be presented with three scenarios. After introductions, each panelist will be allowed approximately five minutes to offer advice on these three scenarios, assuming the businesses are not yet founded, formed, or funded.

Panelists include:

  • Bill Orabone, President of Syneptics
  • Phil Torrence, Attorney with Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, PLC
  • Jack Ahrens, Partner of TGap Ventures, LLC
  • Mike DeVries, General Partner of EDF Ventures


  • Moderating the panel discussion will be Tom Edwards of IdeaWorks, LLC. The breakfast event takes place on Wednesday, January 19th at 8 a.m. at the University Club, 111 Lyon NW (Fifth Third Building), downtown Grand Rapids. The session will begin with breakfast and networking at 7:30 a.m., and is open to all members of the West Michigan business community.
